NEWS UPDATES

Anthropic Raises $13B, Now Worth $183B

The Claude-maker raised a substantial funding round from major investors, roughly doubling its value in nine months. Most of the money will be allocated to increase computer power and establish new data centers.

With valuations this high, a few giants will dominate the market. Start lining up back-up suppliers now, because smaller AI vendors may get crowded out or snapped up.

OpenAI Buys Statsig, Shuffles Top Team

OpenAI purchased Statsig, a startup that helps companies test new app features on live users in real time. It also reshuffled leadership so COO Brad Lightcap now runs day-to-day operations while Sam Altman focuses on partnerships. The deal gives OpenAI a turnkey A/B engine to test features across ChatGPT’s 200 M-plus users.

Expect ChatGPT feature tweaks and price shifts to roll out faster than before. Have product or finance teams track any sudden changes before you lock in 2025 tool budgets.

New GPT-5 Safeguards and Parental Controls

Soon, chats flagged as sensitive will be routed to a GPT-5 filter, which has stricter “content reflexes” to catch self-harm, extremist, or explicit prompts. The company will also launch parental controls, allowing account owners to block mature themes. Rollout begins with consumer versions before hitting Team and Enterprise tiers.

Tighter filters can break existing chatbots or automations. Compliance teams should retest any workflows, especially those serving kids or regulated industries, before the roll-out hits enterprise plans.
