🗞️ News

Apple’s AI editing

Apple researchers have developed an AI model called MGIE that allows users to edit images by describing the desired changes with text prompts. The model can perform tasks like cropping, resizing, adjusting filters and lighting on specific objects.

Apple has made MGIE available through GitHub and a Hugging Face demo but has not outlined specific plans for developing it further at this time.

AI labels on Instagram

Meta announced that it will start labeling AI-generated images shared on Facebook, Instagram and Threads with labels like "Imagined with AI". Meta wants to label images generated by other AI companies like Google and OpenAI to provide more transparency.

It is working with other tech giants to develop common standards for identifying AI content.

OpenAI’s Child Safety

OpenAI has formed a new Child Safety team in response to concerns about how their AI tools could potentially be misused by children.

The team will work to develop policies to manage issues related to underage users of OpenAI and ensure their tools are used appropriately and safely by people of all ages.
