OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra, a model for computer use, visual reasoning and writing. Consider it if you have high-volume work like filling forms or moving data between apps, since OpenAI says it finishes tasks over three times faster than Sol. The company also says it handles this work better than the model you might be using currently. Here’s the expert comparison by eesel that can help you narrow down your choice.
The benchmarks are OpenAI’s own, and the company is comparing with Sol or GPT-6 Astra for complex coding. It’s live in the API, ChatGPT Work and Codex. Google DeepMind released Genie 4 as a research preview for trusted testers. Users can type prompts mid-simulation to change the scene, while the model generates matching audio, from background sound to characters who talk in real time. Gemini acts as a director that plans multi-step events.
Google AI Ultra subscribers get it in Project Genie in the coming weeks, followed by early partners in the Gemini API and AI Studio. Game designers and robotics teams are up for a treat since it can sketch interactive worlds and test agent behavior in simulation. Check out Genie 4.
OpenAI added iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins to ChatGPT. Users can ask ChatGPT to find an email, catch up on their inbox, check what’s next or update a calendar event. They’re available on all plans on web, desktop and iOS. Each plugin connects separately with an Apple app-specific password, and both work with Dots, ChatGPT’s proactive agent.
iPhone users who run email and schedules through iCloud may find it useful, since ChatGPT already works with Gmail and Google Calendar. Note that ChatGPT can see only iCloud Mail, not Gmail or Outlook accounts in the iOS Mail app. The release notes don’t list Android. For more information click here.
