NEWS UPDATES

Microsoft Debuts Two In-House AI Models for Copilot

Microsoft unveiled MAI-Voice-1 and MAI-1-preview, its first homegrown models. MAI-Voice-1 can create a minute of natural speech in under a second on a single GPU and already powers Copilot Daily news briefs. MAI-1-preview, trained on 15,000 H100 GPUs, handles text instructions and is now live for public testing in Copilot Labs.

Microsoft is moving some consumer workloads off OpenAI, signaling a multi-model Copilot roadmap. More in-house models could lower Microsoft’s dependency costs and eventually shift pricing for enterprise SKUs. Ask your Copilot owner to track model attribution and benchmark response quality against GPT-4o before committing 2025 seat budgets.

Anthropic Lets Customers Opt-Out of Data Training

Starting 28 Sept 2025, Claude Free, Pro, and Max chats will be stored up to five years and used to train future models unless users actively opt out. That reverses Anthropic’s previous stance of deleting consumer data after 30 days and not using it for training. Enterprise and API customers stay exempt.

The default switch could expose your teams’ prompts or code snippets to model-training pipelines. Audit who is using personal Claude accounts, issue an opt-out guide before the deadline, and update vendor questionnaires to catch similar hidden changes. Budget time in Q4 for stricter data-sharing clauses across all AI suppliers.

Website Builder Framer Hits $2B Valuation

Framer closed a round led by Meritech and Atomico, bringing total funding to $165 million and valuing the company at $2 billion. The company now claims 500,000+ monthly active users and $50 million in ARR after adding an AI page-generation engine. New enterprise clients include Miro, Perplexity, Scale AI, and 40 percent of Y Combinator’s latest cohort.

AI-assisted web design is graduating from indie makers to Fortune-level budgets. Have marketing ops prototype a microsite in Framer and benchmark build time, on-brand control, and incremental ARR versus your current stack. If the pilot beats agency cost and speed, lock in those savings for 2025 campaigns.
