Jumping from OpenAI to Anthropic

Jan Leike, a former lead safety researcher at OpenAI, has joined rival AI startup Anthropic.

Leike announced his resignation from OpenAI earlier this month, shortly before the company dissolved the AI safety team he co-led that focused on long-term AI risks.

New coding AI

Mistral, backed by Microsoft, has released its first generative AI model for coding, called Codestral.

Codestral is designed to help developers write and interact with code, as it was trained on over 80 programming languages. The model can complete coding functions, write tests, and answer questions about a codebase in English.
