Google's Med-PaLM 2 (MP2) is a medicine-focused chatbot that has been in testing at the Mayo Clinic research hospital.
MP2 was trained on medical expert demonstrations, making it better at healthcare conversations than Bard, Bing, and ChatGPT.
Despite its strong training, it still has some accuracy issues while diagnosing.
Still, in almost every other metric, MP2 performs more or less like an actual doctor.
Why we should care:
MP2 can be a valuable resource for areas with limited access to doctors.
Doctors can focus on surgical procedures while this AI treats common health issues.
We might even have an AI doctor in our smart watches constantly monitoring our health.
