NEWS UPDATES
Amazon’s Alexa Gets a Full AI Upgrade
Amazon rolls out a GPT-powered Alexa that can summarize email, draft messages, and reschedule meetings in a single chain. Closed beta users trimmed daily admin time by 22 minutes per employee. Rollout to U.S. Echo devices starts mid-November, with enterprise APIs following in Q1.
Expect customers and employees to assume voice assistants can handle multi-step tasks; plan API hooks if you want Alexa to reach your services first.
Google Adds Guided-Learning Mode to Gemini
Gemini’s new workspace pane lets users paste a syllabus and get daily lessons, quizzes, and progress charts—essentially Google’s answer to ChatGPT Study Mode. Paste any syllabus into Gemini and employees get auto-built lessons, flashcards, and progress dashboards tied to Google Drive.
A Google pilot cut compliance-training hours from four to one while boosting quiz scores 18 %.
Content anchors to Drive files so teams can create internal playbooks that update in real time. Pilot it on onboarding or compliance content; if managers see quiz scores, you may drop a separate micro-learning licence.
Google’s Jules Coding Agent Leaves Beta
Jules now ships as a paid add-on that writes pull requests, explains diffs and auto-tests small changes. Seat-based pricing (no token fees) beat Copilot by 20% in TCO during an early FinServ deployment.
Dev-ops heads should run Jules on a low-risk repo; quicker merges could free senior engineers for roadmap work.
