Elon denied Bloomberg’s news
Bloomberg reported that Elon Musk's AI company 'xAI' had secured $500 million in funding towards a $1 billion goal, citing unnamed sources.
He said the report claiming the funding round was "simply not accurate" when asked about it on X. According to an SEC filing, xAI has so far raised $134.7 million from four unnamed investors since November 2022.
BharatGPT - Meta of India
BharatGPT, an initiative led by researchers at IIT Bombay, aims to become the leading foundational model for large language models (LLMs) in Indian languages, similar to how Meta's models like Llama have become popular for English LLMs.
The researchers are working to acquire more computing power and release additional model versions and modalities like video/speech.
AI chip industry in 2024
The chip industry is expected to grow 13% in 2024 after declining 9.4% in 2023.
Several factors are contributing to this, including a recovery in the memory chip market and a resurgence in end markets like PCs and smartphones. The report also predicts that AI chip sales will exceed $50 billion in 2024.
