Key update:
Dozens of AI-generated books have been found on Amazon's bestseller lists.
81/100 of top romantic bestsellers are meaningless AI books, being used for click farming.
The books themselves are often filled with nonsensical text that is generated by AI.
Amazon has removed these books from the bestseller list, but they are still for sale.
Why we should care:
If AI books flood the bestsellers list, Amazon pays them the most. This affects the real writers as they cannot earn as much.
With AI becoming more accessible, content platforms need to implement stricter content checks.
