NEWS UPDATES
Meta open-sourced LlamaFirewall, a tool that protects AI agents from prompt attacks, goal drift, and unsafe code. It uses three layers - PromptGuard 2, AlignmentCheck, and CodeShield - to spot threats in real time and block insecure actions. It cut attack success by 90% in tests. As AI agents do more critical tasks, this helps keep business systems safe without slowing them down.
Google added Gemini Nano, its on-device AI, to Chrome 137 beta to spot tech support scams in real time. The model scans pages locally for scam signs like fake alerts or screen lockouts. If flagged, Chrome shows a warning. This helps stop fast-moving scams early, and Google may soon expand this to other fraud types across platforms.
OpenAI now lets ChatGPT scan linked GitHub repositories using its Deep Research tool to pull relevant code data and generate detailed reports. This helps teams quickly understand large codebases without manual digging. It streamlines dev workflows and may reduce ramp-up time on complex projects as AI tools take on more backend research tasks.
