🗞️ News

Microsoft’s Investment in Spain

Microsoft plans to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure in Spain with a $2.1 billion investment over the next two years. This will strengthen Microsoft's 37-year commitment to Spain's security, development, and digital transformation.

The investment will include building new data centers. Microsoft recently made a similarly large investment in Germany.

SoftBank vs Nvidia

SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son is seeking to raise $100 billion for a new venture called Izanagi to develop AI chips. This would compete with Nvidia.

Son plans to seek Middle Eastern investors for $70 billion and contribute $30 billion himself. Izanagi would collaborate with Arm, the chip design company that SoftBank owns 90% of.

Neuralink's first human patient who received an implant of the company's brain chip last month is now able to move a computer mouse cursor using just their thoughts.

Neuralink is working on enabling additional functions like holding down buttons through thought as well. The implant is aimed at helping paralyzed people control devices and complete tasks using their minds.
