Microsoft is a board member of OpenAI

Microsoft, a major investor in OpenAI, will now have a non-voting observer seat on the nonprofit board that controls OpenAI. The new board consists of Bret Taylor as chair, Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo, the only remaining member from the previous board.

This move is to gain more visibility into the company's inner workings and to help ensure that OpenAI's technology is developed and used safely and responsibly.

Generate AI images as fast as you can type

The Stable Diffusion XL Turbo AI model from Stability AI can generate images extremely quickly, potentially in real-time. It achieves this through a technique called Adversarial Diffusion Distillation that allows it to create images in a single step, much faster than previous models.

While the images may not be as detailed as those generated over more steps, for speed the results are impressive.
