Perplexity’s Deep Research

Perplexity has launched a new "Deep Research" feature that provides in-depth answers with citations, similar to research tools from Google and OpenAI. Perplexity's version is free with limited use or unlimited use with a paid subscription.

New Chip Competitor

Arm, the semiconductor company owned by SoftBank, is launching its own chip this year. The new chip will be a customizable CPU for servers in data centers, and Arm has landed Meta as a customer.

This is not Arm's usual strategy, as the company typically licenses its chip designs to other firms like Apple and Nvidia.

Anthropic’s Next Major AI

Anthropic is preparing to release a new "hybrid" AI model within the next few weeks that can switch between deep reasoning and fast responses. The model is said to outperform OpenAI's reasoning model on some programming tasks and excel at analyzing large codebases and business-related benchmarks.
