In a stunning reversal of events, Sam Altman has been reinstated as CEO of OpenAI just days after his ousting by the company's board. The move comes after a week of intense turmoil at OpenAI, which saw Altman's departure spark employee protests and a threat from Microsoft to pull its funding.

OpenAI is considering merging with Anthropic

OpenAI's board of directors approached Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei about a potential merger between the two AI companies. They also offered Amodei the CEO position. However, Amodei declined both the CEO role and discussions of a merger due to his position at Anthropic, which is a direct competitor to OpenAI.
