NEWS UPDATES

Humans Managing AI Agents

Microsoft predicts a major shift where workers will manage AI agents instead of doing tasks themselves. Its latest Work Trend Index says AI will first assist, then act as agents, and finally operate independently under human oversight. These "frontier firms" will use AI for work like sales analysis and forecasting, aiming to be faster and more scalable. Microsoft tools like Copilot Studio are already in use by big firms like McKinsey. As AI adoption speeds up, it could displace many jobs but also create new ones, making workforce preparation a key business move now.

DoorDash Moves to Expand in Europe

DoorDash has offered $3.6 billion to buy UK-based Deliveroo, aiming to grow its presence in Europe’s dense cities. Deliveroo said it is open to recommending the offer if terms are firmed up, but there is no final deal yet. DoorDash already leads the U.S. food delivery market and wants to scale faster abroad after growing mostly in smaller European countries. If completed, this deal would widen DoorDash’s market and operational reach. Leaders should watch for regulatory hurdles and expect more consolidation across food delivery as firms seek profitable scale in tougher markets.

DXC Launches AI Workbench for Enterprises

DXC Technology launched AI Workbench, a generative AI platform that helps companies build and scale AI solutions with built-in security and compliance. Ferrovial, a major infrastructure firm, is already using it to boost efficiency and safety across operations with 30+ AI agents. This move signals growing demand for turnkey AI systems that integrate with core apps like Workday and ServiceNow. Companies can now speed up AI adoption while controlling risks. Smart executives should track how pre-built AI platforms like Workbench shift the balance from custom builds to faster, standardized enterprise deployments.
