NEWS UPDATES

$500B AI Factory Breaks Ground

Crusoe Energy is building the first phase of a $500 billion AI data center project for OpenAI, Oracle, and Microsoft in Texas called “Stargate.” It will house 100,000 GPUs per building and run mostly on cheap wind power. The goal: Train AI that can build more AI, faster and cheaper. Crusoe won the deal by moving quickly and sourcing low-cost energy that others had ignored.

Why it matters

This project resets the bar for AI infrastructure scale and cost. It also signals long-term bets from top tech players on AI as a core utility—like water or electricity.

Expert insight

Expect massive energy demand and tighter competition for compute. Leaders should secure long-term GPU access now—or risk falling behind.

WordPress Launches Free AI Site Builder

WordPress now offers a free AI tool that builds websites from simple prompts. Users type what they want in a chat, and the AI creates a full site—layouts, text, and images. It’s only for new sites and not built for e-commerce yet. Users get 30 free prompts, with unlimited use after buying a plan.

Why it matters

This cuts the time and cost of launching websites. Teams can go from idea to site in minutes—without developers. It’s especially useful for internal tools, campaign microsites, or MVPs.

Expert insight

Expect AI to handle 80% of basic web builds. Leaders should reassess web workflows and vendor needs.

Google Powers Sutskever’s New AI Push

Ilya Sutskever’s new startup, Safe Superintelligence (SSI), is using Google’s custom AI chips (TPUs) to build safe, high-powered AI systems. Google announced this at its Cloud Next event. SSI, backed by $1B in funding, aims to build superintelligent AI safely. Google also launched Ironwood, its newest TPU chip, built for AI that thinks and infers—like chatbots or agent systems.

Why it matters

This tight link between a top AI founder and Google Cloud signals a shift in who controls the future of AI compute—Google is positioning to dominate.

Expert insight

Expect cloud costs to rise and capacity to shrink. CIOs and CTOs must hedge cloud dependencies now—multi-cloud and chip strategy will be key.
