Amazon Is Backing AI Startups
Amazon's Alexa Fund is now broadening its investment strategy to include a wider range of AI startups. The Alexa Fund is looking to invest in AI-enabled hardware, generative media, smart agents, and emerging AI architectures.
These investments also serve as a way for Amazon to use its cloud and AI technologies as the startups gain access to Amazon's resources and infrastructure.
Nvidia’s New Acquisition
Nvidia is reportedly in negotiations to acquire Lepton AI, a startup that rents out servers equipped with Nvidia's own AI chips. The potential deal is valued at several hundred million dollars.
This would allow Nvidia to further penetrate the competitive server rental market.
OpenAI’s $40 Billion
OpenAI is close to securing a massive $40 billion funding round led by SoftBank. This would make it the largest venture capital round ever, surpassing the $6.6 billion round OpenAI raised just last year.
