Anthropic’s New Releases

Anthropic is launching a new AI model called Claude 3.7 Sonnet that can "think" about questions for as long as the user wants. This "hybrid AI reasoning model" allows users to choose between short or long "thinking" periods to get more considered answers.

Anthropic is also releasing an agentic coding tool called Claude Code that allows developers to analyze and modify code using natural language commands.

Perplexity’s Own Browser

Perplexity is building its own web browser called Comet. The company says it wants to "reinvent the browser" just as it has "reinvented search." Perplexity may be hoping to leverage its existing search engine user base to quickly gain traction with Comet.

Nvidia’s Weather Forecasting

Nvidia has developed a new type of weather forecasting model that can make weather predictions 500 times quicker and uses 10,000 times less energy than the current weather prediction systems. It takes broad weather data and zooms in to give detailed forecasts for specific local areas.
