CLOSING UPDATES

Apple signed Biden’s AI guidelines

Apple has signed on to the Biden administration's voluntary AI guidelines, joining 15 other major tech companies in committing to responsible AI development.

Apple has agreed to follow a set of White House provisions that encourage developers to adhere to safety protocols, test for biases and security risks, and allow the government to view the results of those tests.

Anthropic’s aggressive scraping

Anthropic's ClaudeBot web crawler has been aggressively scraping content from websites like iFixit, seemingly violating their anti-AI scraping policies. iFixit's CEO says ClaudeBot hit their servers nearly a million times in 24 hours, tying up their resources.

Anthropic claims its crawler only respects robots.txt exclusions, which doesn't allow website owners to control what can be scraped.

Elon is using X data

Elon Musk's social media platform X has implemented a default setting that allows user posts and interactions to be used for training Grok.

X users can control whether their public posts can be used for training Grok. Users can opt out of having their content used in this way.

That’s all.

Stay curious, leaders!
