OpenAI has completed a deal that values the company at $80 billion or more, nearly tripling its valuation in less than 10 months.
The deal involves OpenAI selling existing shares in a tender offer led by venture firm Thrive Capital. Employees can cash out shares rather than a traditional funding round.
Reddit has signed a new licensing deal worth around $60 million annually, allowing an unnamed large AI company to access and use Reddit's content to train their models.
The deal could help Reddit's revenue as it aims for a $5 billion valuation in its upcoming IPO.
Google has open-sourced a tool called Magika, which uses AI to accurately identify the type of files. Magika can determine if a file contains text, images, videos, executable code, or other file types.
Google uses Magika internally to help detect harmful or problematic content on services like Gmail and Drive.
