Pi AI on Android
The AI chatbot Pi, created by Inflection AI, is now available on Android after previously only being on iOS. Pi aims to provide an "empathetic, useful, and safe" conversational experience to users. It competes with ChatGPT but claims to be more personal.
The availability of Android expands Pi's potential user base to billions of additional people. However, it faces strong competition from ChatGPT and newer options as well.
Grok now ‘rolled out to all’ US Premium+ subscribers
Elon Musk's xAI is launching its Grok AI chatbot for Premium+ subscribers of the X platform in the US, starting at $16 per month. The chatbot is designed to give "spicy" answers in a "rebellious" way and is also said to cite information from the X platform in real time.
Grok will be rolled out to all English-speaking X users in the coming days, followed by a Japanese version and other languages by early 2024.
Project “Purple Llama“
Meta AI has launched a new project called Purple Llama, which aims to develop open-source tools for building AI systems safely and responsibly. The project's initial focus is on cybersecurity and filtering harmful or unsafe inputs and outputs.
As part of this, Meta is releasing an evaluation tool called CyberSec Eval for assessing cybersecurity in large language models, and a safety classifier called Llama Guard for filtering model inputs and outputs.
